Message from the Director

I hope that everyone had a restful and festive break for the Aid holidays. Our students will now focus on completing the first term that will culminate in parent-teacher conferencing on October 30-31.
Our upper school conducted its annual Tunisian Studies Trips this past week. It was a great diversion from the classroom to go out to the various points across the country to learn first hand about the culture and history of Tunisia. The students and teachers will
make reports and power point presentations about their experiences. Thanks to the teachers for planning and chaperoning these exciting trips for our students. A special thanks to Dorsaf Kouki for coordinating and for the great support from Mr. ben Sedrine and Mr. Elakel in the Business Office.

THE WORLD LANGUAGES PROGRAM
AT THE WORLD LANGUAGES FESTIVAL
Dear Parents,
The American Cooperative School of Tunis is celebrating its World Languages Program during the World Languages Festival from November 10 through November 21st, 2008. We are now in the process of planning various activities for this event and are seeking volunteers to give presentations or demonstrations to our students and staff. We would also like our students to become more aware of the rich cultural heritage that we have right here in our community. The themes we have chosen are: Art (Famous People, Legends, Artists, Literature, Heroes, Culinary Art and Music) and society (Traditional Clothing, Food, Celebrations, History, Geography, Humor, Famous People).

Welcome BBQ is Oct. 18, 2008
Grab the whole family and join us for a Welcome Barbeque Picnic on Saturday, October 18 from 11:30am to 1:30pm behind the ACST amphitheatre. Members of the ACST School Board will be flipping burgers, and the school and the PTO will provide other party supplies. Parents, please bring a dessert, and teachers, please bring a salad. This is always a fun (and tasty) event, so we hope to see you there!
